Profile

(Came for the gifts, stayed for the company)

Hi, I’m Chiara, based in Italy. I’m a journalist, a writer at heart (and by training) now working in web accessibility, which means I care a lot about words, clarity, and small details that make things work a little better for everyone.

I’m always trying to learn something new — languages, chess, playing musical instruments of various kinds, sculpting with DAS (with results that usually look more like amorphous blobs than recognisable figures), and occasionally building wooden furniture that stays upright more thanks to an act of faith than to sound structural engineering.

I love music, flowers (especially when they’re still firmly attached to the ground), sunlight, and snow — because really, why should anyone have to choose? I enjoy cosy atmospheres, rainy days, warm tea, soft socks, and a cat who also happens to be my roommate. His name is Lillo. He’s a 6-kilo Siberian cat who firmly believes he runs the house — and, to be fair, he’s probably right. He supervises all activities, considers personal space a theoretical concept, and on some days decides I’m the day’s designated cushion.

I also spent a significant portion of my childhood playing Tetris, which means I now feel a deep, almost spiritual need to stack boxes using every last bit of available space. It’s not a quirk — it’s my secular religion.

I value warmth, curiosity, and sincerity, and I’m drawn to things — and people — that come with a story, a bit of care, or a quiet sense of humour. I’m not particularly interested in perfection, but I really appreciate thoughtfulness. If something makes you smile, feel seen, or feel a little more at home, chances are I’ll like it too.
