Life for this 35-year-old momma is a vibrant, bustling adventure, largely orchestrated by my three affectionately termed "unruly beasts"—a 12-year-old daughter, a 10-year-old daughter, and a 9-year-old son. Adding to our lively crew is a menagerie of rescue animals, each with their own charm: Miso, my dog who lovingly resembles a "fat little tick," two cats, a sweet guinea pig, and even a couple of sugar gliders. Despite the happy chaos, I truly am a pretty simple gal at heart.
These days, a significant part of my focus is dedicated to my education. I'm currently enrolled in college, diligently working towards an Associate's Degree in Medical Information Management along with a certificate in Medical Billing and Coding, with just two semesters—this summer and the upcoming fall—left until I graduate! The CCA exam for coding is my current big academic hurdle, and if there's such a thing as overstudying, I'm fairly certain I'm mastering that art. Since stepping back from work to concentrate on school, I've discovered I have a surprising amount of time on my hands. When I’m not hanging out with my kids, my desk is my main command center. I do attempt to cultivate hobbies, but my interest in them often burns out rather quickly. And, of course, when I'm not actively cleaning up after my kids, you can usually find me… well, cleaning some more, especially now that school's out for the summer!
Beyond the whirlwind of motherhood and studies, I genuinely enjoy spending time on my appearance. I have a love for makeup and often change my hair and overall look. I was almost blonde a week ago, but currently, I'm rocking the darkest brown hair. Comfort is definitely my go-to, so sweatpants and beloved crewneck sweatshirts are staples in my wardrobe. Now that it’s summer, though, my daily attire usually consists of soft shorts and t-shirts, though I make it a point to wear a dress about once a week just to make myself feel a bit fancy. (For reference, I wear a large in tops and bottoms, and an 11.5 or 12 in shoes.)
As for snacks, I tend to buy whatever I'm craving at the moment, enjoy a few servings, and then find I've quickly burned out on that particular treat. While I sometimes contemplate the idea of a diet, I'm feeling pretty content with my weight these days. My general outlook is that if I happen to lose a few pounds, that's great! But if not, I'm certainly not going to stress about it.
