Amazing surprise! Foreign taste, yet cozy. Scary, but funny at the same time!

My high expectations for this exchange have been shattered and I will have to build new ones next year with an even higher bar! I have been greatly surprised by my gifter's choice, with what I think is a very thoughtful and cool gift.

The book lover that I am, received two beautiful pieces that will rest in my shelf as prized possessions, jumping from time to time into my hands so my eyes can delight themselves with what's written in them.

First, I got a stunning hard-cover, containing sixty japanese recipes that will help me expand my cuisine repertoire, my tastes and my scents. It is simply an amazing book, not just because of what its letters will let me learn, but also because of the tasteful images that it contains.

Secondly, I received from my beloved gifter a horror/parody book which has left me with a huge and permanent smile on my face. It is very stylish and seems to hold very interesting and even unnerving stories, which for some reason keep reminding me of certain furniture store with origins in Sweden...

Finally, I just want to say... Bullseye! Dear gifter, you got it just right and I am deeply thankful for the time and effort you put on thinking about what I may like. I really appreciate it and I really hope you will receive something as sweet and fitting.
